Alluvial Studio looks great, and like the name...The Ducks Unlimited carbon credit effort made me think of the Ducks Unlimited Park in Arkansas across the Mississippi River from Memphis https://www.ducksunlimitedpark.com/. I had heard they plan to convert at least some of the land there back to forested wetlands but hadn't heard of the broader effort Ducks Unlimited has throughout the Mississippi Alluvial Valley. It sounds like a good way to bring back natural habitats with many positive effects.
Ah, yes, I actually learned about this park while working on a previous article for DU's magazine... DIdn't realize it was open yet. I'll have to check it out next time I'm up in Memphis. A LOT of good river developments happening up that way.
The park is open, but few of the developments proposed on the website have been completed. At the moment, it's mostly a pedestrian/bike loop around farm land. It does have some great views of the river from the Arkansas side.
Ah interesting. I actually made my way slightly into that land a few years back, after running across the bridge. Cynically, I'd note that DU's top priority is duck habitat. And that the park has secondary goals of flood storage. And those can be accomplished without much development. To the point I raise at the end this essay, though, I AM happy to see a habitat-and-flood project that allows public access!
Hmm, *technically* it's no longer alleged, if he's been sentenced, though I understand that the crime is disputed. So fair enough - edited on the permanent version. Thanks, Janisse!

Agree! Selfishly, I'm looking forward to the shade from added tree coverage. It's good for habitat, including humans 😂
Wondering if you should put the word "allegedly" in front of "stealing trade secrets."

Yes, I thought about that as I was writing it, but the ruling is so disputed, by so many, that I probably would continue to call it "alleged."
